Hi friend,
Whether you’ve been walking this path with us from the very beginning or you just stumbled onto our page today, we wanted to take a quiet moment to re-introduce ourselves and share the story of how we got here.
We are Chanelle and Jessica, the creators of Three Six Five Journals.
Our business wasn't born in a corporate boardroom. It was created from a place of deep lack, scarcity, and a frustrating question we kept asking ourselves: Why does it feel like we are constantly reliving the exact same life, over and over again?
It took us a long time to realize the most important lesson of all: you will repeat the cycle until you learn the lesson the situation was trying to teach you.
The Birth of 365 Days of Self Discovery
Our very first product, 365 Days of Self Discovery, started as a tiny seed of an idea almost six years ago. It took me (Chanelle) three long years to write and publish. There was no outside help, no professional editors, and absolutely no AI. Just raw pen-to-paper truth.
At the time, I was trapped in a relationship I knew deep down wasn't right for me. I had no idea how to trust my own intuition, let alone how to leave when a situation was out of alignment. Instead, I minimized my feelings, swept them under the rug, and pretended everything was fine until it inevitably blew up in my face, leaving me with no choice but to walk away.
When I finally looked at my life, I noticed a terrifying pattern. A toxic relationship would end, and I'd jump right into a new one that ended the exact same way. I’d get a promotion, only to lose my job shortly after. I kept asking:
"Why is everything repeating?"
"Why can’t I find a healthy connection or keep a steady job?"
Desperate for answers, I began working with therapists and life coaches to locate and release these subconscious blockages. I started practicing breathwork and meditation to help regulate my nervous system so I wouldn’t react so impulsively.
And then, I started journaling.
That is when the fog finally cleared. On those pages, I could clearly see my patterns, my self-sabotaging tendencies, and how easily I had been misled simply because the only voice I wasn't trusting was my own.
After years of doing this inner work, I realized I needed to create a structured tool that combined all of the things that had saved me; the journaling prompts, the breathwork, the meditation… so others could free themselves from their own endless loops.
But I knew I couldn’t do it alone. I called Jessica. She believed in the vision, the product, and our potential from day one, and agreed to come on as co-founder. To be completely honest, without Jessica, Three Six Five Journals wouldn't exist today. I pour my heart into creating the journals, and she handles absolutely everything else to bring them to life!
Navigating Our Darkest Days: The Light in Loss
Then came 2020, and my world shattered. I lost my Papa. It was, and still is, the worst day of my life. Even writing these words today brings tears to my eyes.
As the eldest daughter, I felt an immense pressure to be the strong one, to hold the heavy pieces together for everyone else. Because of that, I completely shut down and felt incredibly isolated in my own grief. Not long after, Jessica lost her father.
As we were both drowning in our own separate grief, we realized we needed a safe space to process what we were feeling. We needed a way to work through the pain so it wouldn't manifest in our bodies, and a quiet place to keep our fathers memories alive.
That is how The Light in Loss was born.
It is, without a doubt, the hardest journal we will ever create. It took us three emotional years to write because we were actively living the pain we were writing about. Every prompt drafted, every meditation recorded, and every memory recalled made us cry. It was an exhausting roller coaster, but we kept going because we knew if we needed this, others did too.
Death is incredibly hard. Grieving is lonely. And when you don’t have a safe space to just exist with your pain, it’s even harder.
Just Two Girls on a Mission
If you’ve made it this far down the page, thank you.
At the end of the day, we are just two girls who wanted to build gentle, practical tools to help people navigate the absolute hardest parts of being human.
We don't have a giant corporate team, massive investors, or fancy editors. It is just the two of us. Because of that, we are always so incredibly grateful when you reach out - whether it's to gently point out a typo we missed, or to tell us what prompts you wish we would include next. These journals are truly built for you, by you.
Thank you for trusting us with your healing, your growth, and your stories. We are so honored to hold space for you.
With so much love,
Chanelle & Jessica
